The Federal Communications Commission said on Monday (12/22/2025), it is adding China's DJI and all foreign made drones and components to a list of companies determined to pose unacceptable risks to U.S. national security.
The FCC designation does not impact a consumer’s ability to continue using drones they previously purchased or acquired. Nor does this decision prevent retailers from continuing to sell, import, or market device models approved earlier this year or previously through the FCC’s equipment authorization process. By operation of the FCC’s Covered List rules, the restrictions imposed by this decision apply to new device models.
